Bayeux and Normandy
A stone’s throw from our charming hotel
You’ve chosen to stay in Bayeux in Normandy. Excellent stuff! Right at the heart of the historic city centre, you’re surrounded by the history of France, right from Queen Matilda and the Middle Ages to D-Day and the modern age. Yet none of the turbulence from the major events that the region has seen will disrupt the calm of our charming hotel nestled in Old Bayeux, a jewel of medieval architecture. Nothing will disturb your strolls and you will soon discover that everything to satisfy your curiosity is located close to the hotel, and that everything else is easily accessible. Quite simply, Bayeux is at your feet. The tourist office neighbours the hotel and the departure point for excursions is at the foot of the hotel. Meanwhile, at your feet you can discover the city’s architectural jewels that have miraculously survived the ravages of history, plus its cathedral (which can be seen from the hotel), its museums and its charming boutiques.
Home to the world-famous Bayeux Tapestry visited by millions and the numerous heritage buildings, Bayeux has everything you’d find in a capital city, which it was in ancient Gaul, also briefly acting as provisional capital of France during the Liberation in 1944.
Further afield, Caen, the D-Day Beaches and Mont Saint-Michel will entice you with their special lure (shuttle to Mont Saint-Michel and the D-Day Beaches available on request). Cabourg, Deauville, Trouville, Honfleur and the rest of the delights of the Côte Fleurie are also at your door. The ideal holiday setting with picturesque, romantic, sporty and natural sides to it, you’ll discover Normandy is both welcoming and seductive, and easy-going and quiet despite its worldwide fame.
